KUNKU began with three children who taught us to see the world — and the spaces around us — differently.
Children shouldn't always have to adapt to their environment. Sometimes, the environment should adapt to them.
The KUNKU family
We are parents of three children on the autism spectrum — each with different needs, personalities, and ways of learning, playing, communicating, and experiencing the world.
Through raising our children, we began to see everyday spaces differently. We noticed how much energy children spend adapting to environments that were never designed with them in mind.
That realization became the heart of KUNKU. We created it to design thoughtful children's furniture and spaces where more children can feel comfortable, safe, independent, curious, and included — while still creating beautiful, functional pieces that families, schools, clinics, and learning environments are proud to have.
